Item Distribution, Population Status and Conservation Threats of Bucerosbicornis Linnaeus, 1758 in the Chitwan National Park, Nepal(Central Department of Zoology, 2018) Khanal, ArjunGreat Hornbill Bucerosbicornis is one of threatened avian species of Nepal and Chitwan National Park is one of the important habitats for this highly restricted-range species. This study was carried in winter (November) and summer (March). The distribution and abundance of the species was carried by surveying 14 transects in five different blocks in Chitwan National Park.Equal number transect were performed in two habitat i.e., Sal (Shorearobusta) and riverine forest. Among the 14 transects, hornbill were observed only in 11 transects. Great Hornbill was recorded mostly in riverine forest than Sal. The distribution pattern of the Great Hornbill was found to be uniform. A total of 30 individuals were observed in summer season whereas 21 in winter season and the flock size ranged from 3-6 individuals. They were recorded feeding mostly on fruiting trees such as in Dysoxylumbinectariferum, Ficusbengalensis and Bombaxceiba. Fruits of Myristicaceae and Lauraceae were the important tree families that were being consumed. The threats to Great Hornbill were analyzed from questionnaire survey and through direct observation. The threats such as habitat loss, hunting and human disturbance were observed as the major threats to the species in the national park. Community based conservation initiation programs should be encouraged by Government and concerned conservation organizations and also further research should be conducted for the abundance and distribution on Great Hornbill. Since it deals with the psychological and biological aspect of the characters, its prime emphasis is on the explication of the individual characters and their formation of identity or subjectivity in a restrictive society. In other words, love is treated psychoanalytically in the novel, for it delineates how the protagonists or main characters named Dr. Juvenal Urbino, Florentino Ariza and Fermina Daza have spent the life of illusion and hence suffer from neurosis as one would suffer from Cholera. Florentino's unrequited love for the haughty, stubborn Fermina brings psychological upheavals in him when she goes and marries another man, Dr. Urbino. Florentino suffers from this as he might suffer from any fatal disease and conflates his physical agony with amorous agony. He spends whole life vowing eternal fidelity and everlasting love for Fermina Daza though he makes hundreds of sexual encounters with other women in pursuit of solace. Ultimately his suffering ends to some extent after the union with the lady of his heart after Fermina's husband Dr. Juvenal Urbino's accidental death. They come to the epiphany or realization of the significance of mutual love for jubilant and stable life. Their love blooms late in their old age, however, they have not utterly deserved their solid identity because they have started the journey without destination in a sea. So they are still in the process of 'enunciation'.Item Portfolio investment, risk and return analysis of joint venture commercial Bank {with reference to SCBL, SBL, HBL and Nabil Bank ltd}(2014) Khanal, Arjun; Rajendra LamsalNot availableItem Proverbs Used in Newspaper Articles and Their Nepali Equivalents(Central Department of English Education, 2011) Khanal, ArjunThe present study entitled "Proverbs Used in Newspaper Articles and their NepaliEquivalents" is an attempt to examine the structure, frequency and cultural featuresof proverbs used in newspaper articles. Oh America!! and Coburn's Nepali Aama(Faculty of English, 2014) Khanal, ArjunThis thesis shows how the consciousness concerning nationality resides in the minds of the migrated nationals, and manifests in the behavior of those nationals when the circumstances trigger. For this, the prime focus is laid on the nationality in this contemporary transnational world to explore how the traces of nationality manifest in the behavior of the nationals of a particular nation, especially Nepal. In order to support such traces of nationality, this study reviews the occasional behavioral practices of people where in the feelings concerning nationality can be conspicuously seen when one face shard ship and discrimination in the foreign land. This research proves that the sense of attachment to the national and cultural values strengthens when one experiences hardships and difficulties in the foreign countries. It suggests that one should understand the nationality not in terms of abstract conceptualization but in terms of the cultural responses of the nationals of a particular nation. Thus, this research avers that people’s attachments to the native cultures do not easily evaporate from their minds; rather, they want to reinvigorate and spread such cultural values in order to create their distinct identities in the foreign land even more n this transnational world.
