Item English and Nepali Reading Speed of Tharu Students(Department of English Education, 2007) Paudel, SumanThis research work is an attempt to find out and compare the readingspeed of Tharustudentsof secondary level of Dang district in theEnglishand Nepali languages. To carry out this researchwork the researcher prepared test items. Then a pilot test wasadministered to a numberof 20students, from LinconSchool and Shuvatara School assuming the best readers available inKathmandu valley,to finalizethetest materials for data collection. All together 60 students fromprivateand governmentaidedschools ofDang district were taken for the study. The test was administered to collectthe data. After the administration of the test, the answer sheets of thestudents were collected and analyzed, and then their reading speed wascompared. The result of the study shows that theTharustudents’ English readingspeed is better than that of Nepali. Theiraverage reading speed in Englishwas 102.5 w/m where as the average reading speed in Nepali was 94 w/m.Most of the students from Nepali medium schools have poor reading speed. But the majority of the students from English medium schools have betterreading speed in both English and Nepali language. This study has been divided into four different chapters: Introduction,Methodology, Analysis and Interpretation, and Findings andRecommendations. The first chapter is the introduction of the study whichincludes background of thestudy, objectivesof the study, significance of thestudyand review of related literature.Similarly, the second chapter comprises the sources of data, samplingprocedure, tools for data collection, process of data collection and thelimitations of the study. The third chapter deals with the analysis and interpretation of the data.In this chapter, thecollected data havebeen analyzedboth descriptively andstatistically to fulfill theobjectives of the study. Pulchowk Campus, 2023-10) Paudel, SumanThis thesis presents the optimal placement of EV charging stations with randomly distributed PV system. MATLAB software is used to analyze the load flow of distribution network using sweep algorithm. The Bishnumati feeder of Balaju DCS is used under analysis and IEE 33 bus system used for theoretical part for the load flow and EV stations. The 372 kW (mix of 60 kW and 42 kW) charging stations are considered and it is evaluated that the system loss increases and voltage regulation is found poor upto 0.732 pu at distribution secondary side voltage. This shows that EV charging capacity does not fulfilled by existing distribution network and transformer. The randomly distributed rooftop solar PV system is considered in this system as distributed generation and that allows the power to flow at day time. Genetic algorithm is used for the EV charging station location and size of PV. The total 1381.2 kW of PV system is used that improves the voltage to 0.84 pu. The system loss also decreases by using PV system and is reduced from 412.55 kW to 279.15 kW. The financial analysis shows the positive NPV and payback period of 12 years.Item Problem and Prospects of Cultural Tourism(A Study of Tansen Municipality Palpa District)(Central Department of Rural Development, 2019) Paudel, SumanProblem andProspectsof Cultural Tourism: A Study of Tansen Municipality Palpa District is arepresentative vision of the reality. This research was carried out on the basis of descriptive and analytical research design.Quantative and qualitative data wasused in order to achieve the objective of the study.PrimaryDataas well asSecondary Datawasused for this study. The study wasadopted stratified sampling technique which helps to represent different aspects ofthe society as well as cultural aspects. The people was involved in tourism industry, tourismpolicy making and implementation of the people engaged in teaching tourism in higher educationwith special focus in rural tourism have been interviewed. The stratawasmade on the basis ofcaste i.e. Dalit, Janajati, Brahman/Chhetri and on the basis of gender; Male and female. Thisstudy was applied purposive sampling for area selection whereas sample population of the studywas selected. In respect to tourists, the researcher was chosen on the basis of three days visitors during thestudy. It is assumed that the average monthly arrivals of tourists are 33 and in three months itwill be 100 tourists out of which 10 percent i.e. 10 tourists was interviewed. Similarly, out of thelocal HHs 32 was selected. In this sampling regarding to hotel owners, 5 were chosen as sampleout of total 15 HHs. These all samples were drawn by applying simple random samplingmethod.Interview and observation are the main tools of data collection. The majority of the local population is engaged in animal husbandry and agriculture as well astourist related activities hotels and business i. e higher in the percent of the total respondents. Itclears that the study area is a cultural zone. The educational status of the local people isimproving due to the availability of school facility at local level. There is no wide publicity tothis area from local, district and national level. It is because of the negligence of the localgovernments, geographical structures and others related agencies. In respect to Hotels, there vi were few hotels and it is in district headquarter based on tourist's aspects. It is because of thegeographical and lack of year round road network. It is found that Trekking Route is very in miserable condition due to the low level ofrestructuring daily. So, for the trekkers, this trekking route should be developed well with cleanmanner. In modern world information technology governs the society. So, publicity of that placeas a famous eastern destination should be initiated at national and local level government andlocal stakeholders. It is found that the activities of tourism becomes seasonal there so, all sectors should bedeveloped this area as the destination of land of all seasons. Length of stay of the tourists ismoderate so stakeholders should be encouraged to the tourists for long time stay. For this apackage program and other related programs should be conducted at local level communities. There is no wide publicity to this area from local, district, region and national level. It is becauseof the negligence of the local governments and geographical structures. In respect to Hotels, there were few hotels based on tourist's aspects at Tansen headquarter and not available attourism spot areas. It is because of the geographical and lack of year round road network. Palpadistrict is also renowned for herbal products, apple, rich biodiversity, marcha local indigenousknowledge. However in the lack of well planning and policy these characters were not in worth. Palpa district is also a religions place for Buddhists and Hindus. As a result, it can be taken asreligious tourism also. Moreover, local cultural products were also prospects of Palpa district.Palpa is famous for the indigenous product which is related to tourism. These products help topromote tourism in the Tansen as well as whole Palpa district. Palpa is famous for theindigenous culture which is related to tourism Maruni Dance and Kaura Song. These cultureshelp to promote tourism in the Tansen as well as whole Palpa district.Item Socio-Economic Condition of Tharu Community (A case study of Patihani VDC of Chitwan district)(Department of Rural Development, 2008) Paudel, SumanNot AvailableItem Techniques used by primary level english teachers to motivate students(Department of English Education, 2017) Paudel, SumanThe present research study entitled Techniques Used by Primary Level English Teachers to Motivate Students aimed to find out the techniques used by primary level English teachers to motivate students in ELT classroom. To meet the objectives of this study, I selected 30 primary level English teachers from 15 primary level schools of Kathmandu valley as sample using purposive non-random judge mental sampling procedure to select the sample for thisstudy. Questionnaire and classroom observation checklist were used to collectthe data for this study. The findings of this study showed that eye contact, calling students by their name, teachers’ movement in the whole class, checking and crossed checking students’ classroom behaviours, cracking jokes, playing games and singing songs and rhymes were the most used techniques tocreate motivation among primary level students. Similarly, speaking loudly and clearly and frequent walks around the classroom were the best techniques to motivate primary level students in course of teaching. This thesis is organized into five chapters. The first chapter deals with thebackground ofthe study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and operational definition of the key terms.
