Item Fertility behaviour of dalit community (A case study of Thuladihi, Bahakot and Pawaigaunde VDC, Syngja, district)(Department of Rural Development, 2009) Poudel, Durga PrasadThe main purpose of this study is to examine the fertility behaviour of Kami,Damai, Sarki and Sunar community. A case study of Thuladihi, Bahakot andPawaigaunde VDC, Syngja regarding selected some demographic and socio-economic variables. The study presents the findings from the primary sources of data,survey conducted during B.S. 2065. The study sample included 101 ever marriedwomen of reproductive age group form 165 households. Data were obtained onhousehold and individual information related to explain fertility performance form thesurvey. Using cross table, table, mean table and correlation analysis with selecteddependent and independent variables carried out analyses of fertility behaviour.Children ever Born (CEB) were used as un inditor of fertility behaviour. Fertility of women is determined by the socio-economic condition of thewomen. In Nepal, caste system determines various demographic and socio-economicvariables. This is because the Dalit women were selected as study population for thisstudy. It is inferable in Nepal that the womenwith so called lower caste have highfertility and low socio-economic condition. This is same for this study also in thestudy the fertility of women is found higher which is indicated by CEB= 3.15 childrenper woman. This may be because they have more child loss experience other reasonscan be drawn as lower educational status in which about half of them (49.5%) arefound literate among them 28.7 percent have attended primary level and only 7.9percent have secondary education it is observed that there isno significant differencebetween illiterate and women with lower than lower secondary education. Talking about their occupation over 90 percent of the women are engaged inagriculture and labour which are supposed as blue-collar occupation of loweroccupation. Similarly knowledge and use of family planning methods are also foundvery low. Slightly less than 80 percent of women gave heard about family planningmethods whereas national data indicates over 99 percent. The contraceptiveprevalence rate is also very low among the study women which was accounted for27.7 percent. Among the current contraceptive users, male or female sterilization wasdominant to other. Every use of contraceptive is also low.Item Impact of Dividend on Share Price of Nepalese Life Insurance Company(Department of Management, 2021) Poudel, Durga PrasadThe purpose of this study is to examine the impact of dividend on the market price of Nepalese life insurance companies. The study is based on data collected from four life insurance companies listed in Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) for the period of FY 2014/15- FY 2018/19 by convenience sampling method. Calculated data has been tabulated and analyzed by using MS-Excel and SPSS. The paper investigates the relationship between earnings per shares, dividend per share, dividend payout ratio, earning yield and dividend yield on market price of Nepalese life insurance companies by using Descriptive Statistics Correlation and Regression and ANOVA test. Thedevelopment of ethnic diversity is very important for the development of a society aswell as country. In Nepal from the very beginning we are very familiar to ethnicdiversity and its importance for the development. But the ethnic groups of Nepal tosome extent are invery backward position. Due to lack of knowledge and academicqualification they are living their lifestyle in their own way. They arestill ignorant ofimportance of time, and education. Theyspendmajor sources of earning on the feastand drinking Jad,Raksi and Tobacco. Family size is very large due to the lack ofeducation about family planning. They have less excess todevelopment activities andpolitical status so it is necessary to motivate them to take part in local level. Most oftheKumalpeople are living in rural area soKumalpeople lies in poverty class. The specific objectives of study is to find out the socio-economic condition ofKumals, to identify lifestyle ofKumaland to suggest measures for the improvement intheir status. Out of the61 household only25 householdshavebeensurveyed.Bothprimaryand secondary sources have been used for the purpose of data collection.Questionnaire schedule, key informant interview, focus group discussion andobservationhave beenused for primary data. Kumals’are identified as one of the smallest groups of people living in Hillyand Terai regionas well. Theyrecognize themselves as one of the oldest groupsofinhabitant of study area. Tradition and cultureare the most important indicatorsofany particular culture groups. This study is focused on the study of the socio-economic condition ofKumal. Someof thespecified problemshave beenrecognized.In totality,study shows thatKumalcommunityof Putalibazar Municipality is sociallyand economically deprived. So, the government should provide different program,allocation of special seats for Kumal in education, health and jobs for these indigenous community. Government should provide regular classes for special education to change their traditional mind,should provided the facility of low interest of loan for seeds and fertilizer. They are stillnot getting sufficient food to sustain their daily life. It is hoped that this study of socio-economic condition of Kumalcan be an important work.The, attempt will serve as a valuable document now and in future to formulate policies, strategies, development programm and projects for upliftment of the status of theKumalto achieve the objectives of equity and development. This thesis discusses status of Kumal people of Putalibazar Municipality,Syangja District,Gandaki Zone, Nepal.
