Here, we can see, Sarah shows her courage and kills Terminator, at the end of the movie. Through the critical analysis of Sarah, the female character, this study aims at deconstructing the gender prejudices and patriarchal binaries centrally collected in Cameron’s movie. In this movie, Cameron focuses on Male Cyborg rather than Female Cyborg to show male as superior and female as an inferior. From the beginning, Sarah, a center character, is portrayed as very weak, innocent and dependent. Whereas male characters have been portrayed as strong and powerful, but Sarah sets her sense of resistance in opposition to the gender discrimination. Sarah, a female character has been targeted by both chivalrous and misogynistic male. Terminator (antagonist) and Reese (protagonist) are portrayed as masculine power; try to control Sarah in their own way. A male character has imposed unwanted troubles upon the female like Sarah. So, female protagonist comes with the sense of resistance against the gender oppression and stands up against the whole system which also brings the possibility of Female Cyborg.Item Questioning Masculinity in Willa Cather's A Lost Lady(Central Department of English Kirtipur, Kathmandu, 2010-01) Sharma, SabitaWill Cather's A Lost Lady questions the traditional notion of masculinity juxtaposing the decline of masculine and rise of feminine power. Cather has expertly presented the weakness of male characters and success of female. All the male characters can not affirm the traditional notion of masculine gender roles. Such as Captain Daniel Forrester is economically poor and physically handicapped suffering from fractured leg and economically bankruptcy. There is crisis in his masculinity due to his physical and economic weakness. Niel suffers emotionally when he is in love with Marian Forrester. His emotional nature questions the traditional notion of masculinity. Frank Ellinger, another male character is opportunist who loves Nell Emerland, Mrs. Forrester and marries Constance Ogden. Marian Forrester, the major female character, fights for freedom and identity. She represents the female masculinity possessing masculine characteristics: strength, determination, boldness and courage. These evidences assist us to prove the traditional notion of masculinity which is in questioned.
