Most of the characters: Sam, Chris, Ikem and Beatric narrate the situation and events of Kangan imaginary nation of Nigeria. The main character danger of government isout-of-touch with citizen. Sam, Chris and Ikem are educated in London and Washington. They try to rule like colonizers. But they failed to rule and their death at the end. The end of the tyrannical government is beginning of the new Nigeria.
