Item Factors Affecting on Student's Achievement in Geometry(Department of Mathematics Education, 2018) Budhamagar, Kaman SinghThe purpose of this research was to identify and understand the Factors Affecting on Student’s Achievement in Geometry. This research based on mixed method. these were quantitative and qualitative. To achieve objectives in this study, the researcher has reviewed some literatures and journals that were related to this study. The researcher prepared tools; Questionnaire, interview guidelines for data collection. Likert5 points scale was included in questionnaire response of all students who were enrolled in mathematics of Rolpa district were taken as the population of this study. School and students were selected from simple random sampling method. Sample of schools were 4 from 122 schools and sample of students were 140 from 213 students. Quantitative data were taken from questionnaire. To identify that factors affect on student’s achievement arise 50 statements in questionnaire and calculate Chi-square test, percentage, average mean, weighted mean and average weighted mean. Qualitative data were described by triangulation analysis through interview. Percentage, weighted mean and Chi-square test used to analyze data at 5% level of significant. After analysis and interpretation of obtained data, finding indicated that student related factors (Student Interest, Self-confidence of students, Students Motivation and Practice), teacher related factors (Teachers Behavior, Teaching method in class room, teacher qualification and Teacher training), Instruction material related factors (Geometry box, Text book, Geo- gebra and Raw materials) and Environment factors (Home environment, class room environment and environment school) affect on students achievement in Geometry in Grade VIII.Item Problems of Teaching and Learning Mathematics in Geometry at Grade IX(Department of Mathematics Education, 2016) Sah, Surendra PrasadThis is a case study entitled "Problems of teaching and learning mathematics in geometry at Grade-IX". The purpose of this study was to identify the problems faced by teachers and students in teaching and learning geometry. The sample of this study are two mathematics teachers, five students, Head-teacher and five parents of Shree Rajaji Tulshi lal Jonchhe Janta Higher secondary school Siswa-Belhi, Saptari district. For the theoretical supports Van Hieles five level of geometrical thoughts also taken. After this the researcher made an interview with concerning the students, teachers, head teacher and parents then the collected data were analyzed by descriptive method. From the study, the researcher found that the teaching-learning environment of home and school, pre-knowledge of students, learning activities seems to be exam oriented rather than practical oriented, poor evaluation techniques, lack of appropriate teaching methods and materials, student’s weak pre-knowledge about geometry and poor geometrical lack ground, complex and larger syllabus in secondary level mathematics curriculum, careless of school administration and no-effective learning management related problems faced by teachers and students in teaching learning geometry.
