It is associated with low production income, low savings, low economic growth etc. Geographically most of the area consists of Hilly and Terai regions. There are highly population densities in terai region. Various programmed intended to reduce deep rooted poverty and livelihood. Empowerment in the targeted groups are of the country. One of them is saving and credit co-operative operationally it is focused on women especially in rural area. The present study is an attempt to find out the Impact of Saving and Credit Cooperative on Rural Women: A Case Study of Srijansilsil Women Development Saving and Credit Cooperative Limited has been taken for the study which is located in Pithuwa VDC of Chitwan. The main objectives of the study are: To assess the socio–economic impact of cooperative in the study area, to analyze the main source of family income, To analyze the purpose of loan and to identify the change in their socio economic condition after the participation in Srijansil Women Development Saving and Credit Cooperative Limited. The study has been carried out both on the basis of descriptive and exploratory research design. The study has been focused on to investigate the impact of cooperative in rural womens. For this study both primary and secondary data have been used. The members of SWDSCCL are sources of primary data and the secondary sources of data were collected from cooperative training and division office, published and unpublished books, journals, websites etc. Both qualitative and quantitative data have been collected in this study. To collect primary information sample has been used. A questionnaire is prepared consisting 25 questions with close and open structure. Structured questionnaire was prepared to generate the realistic and accurate data from cooperative officers and accurate data from cooperative office and women who were involve as member. Collected information has been processed scientifically. Information has been analyzed with the help of computer software like excel as well as manually. Different tables are prepared for different socio-economic variables. Piechart, multiple bar diagram and frequency distribution table have been used as statistical tools and techniques. The study was limited Pithuwa VDC of Chitwan district. It is covered only 50 respondents women of the SCCs member. SWDSCCL was established in 2059 B.S. It was established forthe sustainable development and improvement of socio economic status of its member. According to data there was positive impact of cooperative on respondents, because its member have improved there economic status by taking loan and solved there economicproblem. In this study analysis impact of saving and credit co-operative on rural women. Comparing the changing livelihood pattern of women before and after joining the cooperative. It was found that co-operative has not only been conducting economic activities. It has also focused on creating community awareness and increase womens involvement in decision making.Item Impact of Socio-Economic Status of Tharu students in Learning English(Department of English education, 2018) Chaudhary, SantoshThis research study entitled Impact of Socio-economic Status of Tharu StudentsinLearning English aimed to explore the impact of socio-economicstatus of Tharu students in learning English.All Tharu students of secondary level of Kailali district from both government-aided and private schools of Lamki-Chuha municipality were the population of the study. Purposively 3government-aided and 3 private schools were selected for the research.Among the Tharu students, 30 Tharu students of grade nine were selected randomly as sample of the study.In order to meet the objectives,I used a set of questionnaire as the main too land mark ledger as the secondary source to collect the required information.The collected data was analyzed and interpreted qualitatively and quantitatively using tables and graphs. The study found that factors belonging to socio-economic status such as parents' education, language, parents' support for study, family status in society,availabilityof materials, family income, parents' occupation and reading room has direct and indirect impact in learning English.Due to such factors there is no satisfactory achieve ment and result in learning English of Tharu studentsand they have to face challenges in learning English as their socio-economicstatus ismiserable and unsupportive. The study consistsof five chapters. The first chapter deals with the in troductionof the topic in which background of the study, statement of the problems,objectives of the study,research question, signi ficance of the study,delimitations of the study and operational definition of the key terms. The second chapters includes the review of the theoretical literature, review of empirical literature, implication of the review for study and conceptual framework. The third chapter contains design and method of the study, x population,sample and sampling strategies, study area, data collection procedure and analysis and interpretation procedure.The fourth chapter contains the analysis and interpretation of the collected data using different tables and figures. Similarly, the fifth chapter deals with the conclusion and recommendation and ends with references and appendices.Item Involvement of Women in Agricultural Production(Central Department of Rural Development, Tribhuvan University,, 2016-08) SHARMA, JEEVAN RUPAKHETIThe title of thesis is Involvement Of Women In Agricultural Production, A Case Study of Satakhani VDC, Surkhet District. The objectives of the study is to objective to assess the socio-economic status of the respondents. To find out the women involvement in agriculture production and to find out the problems of agricultural production in the study area. The study area is Satakhani-5, Surkhet district. The population of the study has been selected as all the women of the study area who are involving in agricultural production. All the women of the study who are involving in agriculture were taken by using census method. The structure interview schedule has been used as the tool for data collection. The interview schedule has been divided into two parts. The study found that 7.82 percent respondents belonged to the age group less than 20 years and 15.65 percent of them belonged to 36-40 years group in the study area. Similarly, 2.60 percent of respondents had up to three members in their family. In the study area, 66.95 percent of respondents were illiterate whereas 33.5 percent of respondents were literate. In the study, 2.60 percent of the respondents had one child whereas 53.13 percent respondents had three children with them. Likewise, 54.78 percent respondents were regularly involved in agricultural activities in the study area. All the respondents involved in production in maze, similar number of respondents are involved in paddy, 97.39 percent respondents used to produce white as their income source. In the study area, there were problems like low prices of farm produce, lack of roads, inadequate improved/high yielding seedlings, high cost of fertilizers/late supply, frequent outbreak of pests/diseases, poor productivity of land in the study area. The study concluded that there were problems like lack of land for fishery, no capital with them to run fishery and problems of low prize of their products (fish) in the study area. The study concluded that the problems were existed in every activities of agricultural production.Item Socio-Economic Impact of Koyakhola Micro-Hydro Third Project(Central Department of Rural Development Tribhuvan University Kirtipur, Kathmandu, 2016-09) LIMBU, DES BAHADURThe present study entitled "Socio-Economic Impact of Koyakhola Micro-Hydro Third Project" is an attempt to find out the socio-economic impacts of Micro-hydropower project in Rural Area of 2, 3, 4 and 7 wards of Khamlalung VDC of Terhathum district. This study especially reports to the evaluation of socio-economic impact and socially acceptance and economic viability of Koyakhola Micro-hydropower Third Project in Khamlalung VDC of Terhathum district. It encompasses many studies area of micro-hydropower. But it especially focuses on the investigation of such questions like who are the beneficiaries and to what extent do they get benefit. This study is focused on studying the constraints prevailed in rural energy of Nepal. It also keeps the interest to find out the answer of the questions who gets the access to the rural lighting and why? As electricity is regarded as a major infrastructure of development, every place should be facilitated with it. But majority parts of our country have to spend their life in darkness because of which they are facing so many problems related to their daily life situations. Such problems like not proper access to modern science and technology, education and other occupations in which they are involved. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the impact of the micro hydropower projects (MHPs) in rural development and socio-economic aspects through income, health and sanitation, education and information technology and suggest solution for sustainable development of MHPs. The study has employed both primary and secondary sources of data collection. Under the primary sources, the study has been based on questionnaire, interview and direct observation of the project site and affected areas. To meet the objectives of the research, 60 respondents of the study area i.e. Khamlalung VDC (ward no. 2, 3, 4 &7) of Terhathum district were selected as the primary sources of data. Likewise, different reports and official publications regarding hydropower plants have been taken into consideration for the statistical data. In order to conduct this research, procedure was used to select 60 respondents of Khamlalung VDC (ward no. 2, 3, 4 &7) of Terhathum district as a research methodology. A questionnaire was used as the tool for data collection and finding out the socio-economic impacts of micro-hydropower projects in Rural Area. In addition to it, direct observation and interview methods are 7 also adapted to collect information regarding knowing about socio-economic impact about MHP. The study found mixed socio-economic impact of the project on the project affected areas. About 80% of the respondents are seems to be satisfied with the MHP and about 20% of the respondents are seems to be dissatisfied with this MHP. The study further finds out that the population has not completely substituting electricity for firewood. In the study area 70% students' performance at school is improved after MHP installation because children have been studying at the night time using electricity. People are suffering from asthma, bronchitis, eyes infection and heart diseases due to indoor air pollution. Hydroelectricity has a prominent role in reduce indoor air pollution by decreasing the use of firewood and kerosene. Electricity from a micro hydro plant makes it possible to use overhead projectors, computers, TV, radio, refrigerator, chargeable battery, mobile and internet. This increases the living standard of the people in the study area. To sum up, installation of small hydropower projects like Siudigadh Micro-hydro Power Project is significant for several angles like, to fulfill national demand for electricity, project environment, uplift living standard of rural people.Item Socio-economic Status of Women in Saraswati and Thaneswori Community Forest Users’ Group of Gorkha District, Nepal(Department of Economics, 2014-04) Pandey, Pradip PrasadNot available
