Item Rhetorical Shifts in Barak Hussain Obama's Speeches Delivered Before and After the Election from 2004 up to 2016: A Rhetorical Analysis.(Department of English, 2018) Sapkota, Chet PrasadThe focus of this thesis is in the tactful shifting of rhetorical devices-ethos, pathos, logos and kairos- embraced by the 44th president of the USA, Barak Hussein Obama. This project is important so as to help modern students know about the relevance of Aristotelian rhetoric in modern academic spectrum. The research approach adopted in this paper includes the Rhetorical Analysis. The findings from this research provide evidence that as a politician while having sojourning inside the country as well as outside the country; Obama becomes firm in being selective for the rhetorical devices in accordance with the situations and occasions. The conclusions, from this research are: the relevance of ancient rhetoric; the practicality of the rhetorical devices in a range of disciplines such as the academia, media; and so forth; and it stands as a sample for the modern students in the universities.
