Abstract: This thesis entitled"Motivational Techniques Used by English Teachers at Basic Level"was set to find out motivational techniques used by English teachers at basic level and attitude of English teachers toward motivation. The data were collected from thirty basic level teachers of Morang district who were selected using purposive sampling procedure. The main research tools were questionnaire and class observation check list which were used tocollectthe required data from the sampled population. The research finding shows thatall the teacherswere familiar with the concept of motivation and their attitude toward motivation also positive.This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with the general background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study,research questions, significance of the study, de limitations of the study, and definitions of the terms used.The second chapter consists of review of theoretical literature, review of empirical literature/previous study, implication of review and theoretical conceptual framework of the study. The third chapter was about the design of the study, source of data, population of the study,sampling procedure and data collection tools and procedures. The fourth chapter consists of result and discussion, the analysis and interpretation of collected data. The fifth chapter presents the conclusion and implication of the study on the basic of analysis and interpretation of data.
