Abstract: The present study is about "Local Solutions to Local Problems for Teachers' Professional Development". The main purpose of this study was to identify what local strategies teachers utilized in course of boosting their professionalism. For this, the researcher employed a random sampling procedure. This means according to the researcher's access to the population the researcher selected population and visited with two research tools. They were: Interview Schedule and Questionnaire. The information collected from these research tools was interpreted and analyzed by using some quantitative measurement devices like tables. From this study some findings were made. One of them was teachers need to carry out several locally-experimented strategies for their personal and professional development. The informants also pointed out some locally-experimented strategies which teachers can use in their classroom in course of developing their profession. Some of them were: project work; action research; case study; observation; discussion; mentoring; collaboration; co-ordination; article writing; paper presentation among colleagues; instructional counseling from trainers, school supervisors, resource persons and head teachers; sharing; teacher training; reflective practice; maintaining TPD diary; interaction with colleagues and so on. This thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter gives the background of the study. This was concerned with the foundation of the whole study. Similarly, the second chapter consisted of with the methodology part. This part has incorporated primary and secondary sources; data collection process; population of the study; and limitations of the study. Then, the chapter three was about the analysis and interpretation of the collected information. During analyzing information, the researcher utilized quantitative measurement tools like tables. And findings are presented in the form of percentage. The fourth chapter is concerned with the findings and recommendations. On the basis of analysis and interpretation of collected information some findings were found and on the basis of findings some recommendations are made.
