Abstract: Vocational training can bridge youths towards skilled and decent jobs through supplementaryeducation. Thereby, this study tried to assess the role of vocational training in theemployability of trained youths. The study was conducted around Rambagh area (i.e.ward-3of Nepalgunj Sub metropolitan city) of Banke District. More so, for analyzing the researchingissues, required data have been collected through108sample respondents who got vocationaltraining before three years. From the total respondent, 10% are Beautician, 17% areelectrician, 23% are in the field of food and beverage, 15% are in livestock, 13% are plumberand 22% are in tailoring. The respondents were, Brahmin/ Chettir 19%, Dalit 14%, Janajati16%, Madhesi 22%,and Muslim 30% withmajorprimaryoccupationof the family household is agriculture whichis 34% and only 16% of people are considering foreign employment. It shows that still alarge number of people are doing agriculture and take it as their major occupation. Aboutsanitation, all of the household have their own toilet and drinking water facility. Themaximumnumbers of people are relying on tube well for drinking water which might leadtowards some diseases. The study shows that few household has their food sufficiency till 9months else some have food sufficiency till 4 to 5 months whereas there are also householdswho don’t own the land. The vocational training has overall contributed in the lives ofyouths. The youths are employed and self-employed after the trainingwhich has created theenvironment ofself-reliant. All of the surveyed youths are earning minimum of NPR 5000 tomaximum of 20000 monthly.The social prestige of the youths have increased as they arenow skilled, independent and supporting their family forliving. The purchasing powers of theyouths have increased as they have now access to the better health and education to theirfamily. Their income has helped to add fixed assets in the family. The scope of employabilityhas made themself-confidentandself-awareof the ability on self-recognition. They are nowtaken as the role model youth in the society and given as the example to the other people. The study shows transforming life of youths through vocational training that helpedthem toupgrade theirfinancial status andhelped youths to acquire skill and help them to getbetter jobs. The survey shows the respondent carry positive attitude towards the training andexplains how it has been life changing training for them. As lot of youths areunemployed/unskilled which has lead uncertainty in their lifestyle where vocational trainingcan be the bridging course for those people.
