Abstract: This thesis entitled “A Study of Vocabulary Used in Person to Person Exchanged Emails in English” is an attempt to list out and state descriptively the trends of the English vocabulary spellings in emails. The study presents the comparative analysis of the spelling of words used in person to person exchanged emails. The comparison is based on spelling trend and its frequency in use. The data for this study have been collected from naturally occurring person to person exchanged emails from the Nepalese and non-Nepalese users. Collection work was done by going to the non-Nepali visitors on various spots variously and particularly making access to the viewers’ net address via the researcher’s individual link and through different contact channels.Collected data were analysed accordingly and the findings were drawn.Nepali email users have been found using unusual spellings more;they are more random at the take of unusual spelling trend and its frequency, but with a smaller stock of vocabulary in English in comparison to that of non-Nepali email users. This study consists of four chapters. Chapter one consists of general background, literature review, objectives of the study and significance of the study. Chapter two deals with the methodology encompassing the sources of data, population of study, sampling procedure, tools of data collection, process of data collection and limitation of the study. The researcher used primary sources of data, questionnaire and the vocabulary stuff from the email samples received directly and indirectly from 15 non-Nepalese and 25 Nepalese users on both genres respectively. Chapter three is the analysis and interpretation of the data and information obtained from the concerned respondents of the study. This section equally incorporates the type of analysis quantitatively and qualitatively made. Chapter four presents what findings and conclusions have been drawn from the analysis and interpretation of data. Inherent in this section is also the set of pedagogical implications and recommendation saccordingly.
