Abstract: | This research analyzes cultural manipulation in the text The Window Of The House Opposite by Larry Hartsell which is the translated version of Pallo Ghar ko Jhyal by Govinda Bahadur Malla. The translator adopted the techniques like addition, omission, paraphrasing and literal translation. While translating the text, translator tries to capture the socio – political and cultural aspects of Nepali society. The translator shows his loyalty towards the source text in many part but he can not be able to maintain the balance between the sense of source text and target text. This research brings the manipulative aspects of translation. |
