Abstract: The researcher in his thesis entitled“Tense System in Tamang and English Languages”tries to identify tenses in Tamang, and compare and contrast these with those of English.The researcher collected data from Tamang native speakers of Anaikot VDC of Kavrepalanchok district. The researcher used the secondary sources for the data of English tenses.The tenses identified in Tamang arePastand Non Past (Present and Future). The comparison shows that both languages have bipartite tense system. This thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter deals with general background of the languages of Nepal, introduction to the Tamang language,importance of CAin language teaching, basic concepts of tense, marking system in tense, tense system, review of the related literature, objectives of the study,significance of the study. The second chapter is related to the methodology applied to carry out the research, it deals with the sources of data,sampling procedure,tools for data collection, processes of data collection, and limitations of the study.The third chapter deals with the analysis and interpretation of the data. The researcher has used descriptive method to compareand contrast the Tamang and English cases with examples. The fourth chapter deals with the findings and recommendations. On the basis of the findings some recommendations have been made for pedagogical implications.
