Abstract: The research study entitled ‘Language Used in the Editorials of Journal of NELTA ’aimed to study the language of editorials in Journal of NELTA. This study was carried out by using secondary sources as it is a library research. I prepared checklists in which tenses, aspects, major word classes, sentence types and voices to analyze in the editorials of Journal of NELTA were included. The total sample population of the study consisted of thirteen editorials of 'Journal of NELTA'. The required data were collected using observation as the data collection tool. The outcomes derived from the editorials of Journal of NELTA were tabulated on the basis of data and linguistic characteristics. The study found that non-past tense was used more frequently than past tense. In the case of aspect, simple aspect got the highest frequency and perfective and progressive aspects were used after it in decreasing order. In the same way, regarding major word class, nouns were used most frequently and verb, adjective and adverb were used in descending order. In terms of sentence types, complex sentences were found to be used most frequently. Simple and compound sentences followed it respectively. And last but not the least, voice was analyzed. In the case of voice,it was found that active voice was used more frequently than passive voice. This thesis is composed of four chapters and each chapter is divided into necessary headings and sub-headings.
