Abstract: The purpose of this research was undertaken mainly to identify and investigate the role of Information technology in the rural sector via the most commonly used public sector. One of the factors that contribute towards the development of rural sector is by using the IT in each and every possible field. To address the problem and find out the prominent solution in Ilam, implementation of e-judiciary was undertaken. Since, IT is the broad and vague concept hence its role is indefinite and outreach able but to address and being focused to the research problem, the development of e-judiciary and its effect after its implementation is chosen. Implementation of e-Judiciary mainly promotes for the safe-keeping of judicial information, acts as a platform to monitor all the judicial activities, speedy working environment, eliminates the low task paperwork, provides speedy justice service, transparency, better knowledge of the judiciary, improved knowledge of the law, accountability and easy access to public for case information and its details. Since the overall thesis is based on the problematic scenario of the role of IT in Rural sector for the development initiative, the implementation of e-governance using information technology in the Judicial sector is undertaken and the impact of IT in the government sector to overview the social and economic status of the rural people are studied. After the implementation of IT the output of work done in the public organization is analyzed in the court of Ilam which is directly related to the service to the local and poor people around. The formation of e-Judiciary provides the path for the rural community in getting access to the most common type of court information. Necessary training and Basic knowledge of computer is the most essential factor to amplify the knowledge of rural people, staff of government institution and lawyers around the rural area.
