Abstract: | This study is to identify the problems faced by students in geometry at grade X and to find out the causes of the problems related to prove and verify theorem and construction. This study was mixed design. So that it is quantitative and qualitative as well as descriptive survey. This study was conducted at grade X in ten public secondary schools. The researcher chooses 150 students from all schools. The researcher took interview with students, mathematics teachers and head teachers and questionnaire. The researcher observed the class of all schools in twenty days. When researcher collected the data he analysed and obtained data with the help of conceptual understanding. The researcher obtained data on basis of learning environment at school, classroom interaction, teaching methods, pre-knowledge, materials and evaluation techniques and activities in classroom. The qualitative data were analyzed by using conceptual framework. Finally it is concluded that students feel problems in learning Geometry because of school environment, lack of pre-knowledge of students, teaching methods and techniques. If the school provides sufficient teaching materials about geometry, extra classes for weak students, teacher uses appropriate teaching method, teaching materials. Then the Problems Faced by Students in Geometry at Grade X in Sarlahi District would be minimize. |
