Abstract: This study entitled"An Evaluation of Translation: A Study of Translated Textbook of Our Pre-Vocational Education for Grade Seven"aimed at evaluating the techniques of translation of technical terms and finding out the gaps in them.In my research, two hundred technical terms and their Nepali translations were purposively selected through non-random sampling procedure from Our Pre-Vocational Education textbook of Grade 7.For this study observation was used as a research tool for data collection. There searcher analyzed the original and the translated version the same textbook.The main findings of this study are that altogether seven techniques of translation were used while translating vocational terms.Moreover, literal translation and calquin' were more frequent techniques respectively, where as borrowing was least used technique. My research comprises five chapters. Chapter one deals with introduction which consists of general background, statement of the problems, rationale of the study, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study,delimitation of the study and operational definitions of the key terms. Chapter two deals with the review of related literatures, and conceptual framework. It consists of review of related empirical literature and review of related theoretical literature. Moreover, review of related theoretical literature consists of the English language and its position, present scenario of ELT in Nepal,linguistics situation of Nepal, introduction to translation etc.Similarly,chapterthree deals with methods and procedures of the study. It consists of design of the study, population and sample, sampling procedure,field of the study, data collection tools and techniques, data collection procedure and data analysis and interpretation procedure. Chapter four incorporates to the results and discussion of collected data. Eventually,the last chapter consists of findings,conclusions and recommendations.
