Abstract: Chef, a historical novel by Jaspreet Singh has its roots anchored in the partition violence and Kashmir conflict. This research explores the prevalent condition of innocent people who have been traumatized by the effects of Indo-Pak conflict. Kip, as an eyewitness of the conflict, has experienced different sorts of devastating condition that surrounding people had faced during the time of conflict. He is mostly tortured with the condition of Irem, a Muslim woman who has been sexually abused by General and compelled to bear an unwanted child.
