Title: Attitude of Teachers Towards the Use of Internet for Professional Development

Abstract: The current study, Attitude of Teachers towards the Use of Internet for Professional Development, aims to find out the attitudes of secondary level English teachers towards the use of Internet as a resource tool for professional development. For this purpose, forty different schools and a sample of forty English Language teachers teaching in those schools were selected through purposive non- random sampling procedure. Data were collected using questionnaire tool. Collected data were analyzed in four ways i.e. introduction, data presentation, analysis and conclusion. After the data was analyzed, it has been found that English language teachers have positive attitude towards use of Internet for professional development. They use Internet as a resource tool, to improve their language skills and aspect, to update themselves with the new knowledge in the field of ELT with the change of time and most importantly, they found improvement in their profession as well. This endeavor comprises five chapters. The first chapter presents the background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and operational definitions of the key terms used in this work. The second chapter includes review of related theoretical literature, review of related empirical research, implications of the review for the study and conceptual framework. The third chapter is about the methodology used in the process of this study. Namely, they are: design and method of the study, population, sample and sampling procedure, study area, data collection tools and techniques, data collection procedures, and data analysis and interpretation procedures. The fourth chapter is the presentation of the analysis and interpretation of the data. Based on the analysis and interpretation, the findings have been presented. Chapter five includes conclusions and recommendations. Furthermore, recommendations are categorized as policy related, practice related and further research related. The final chapter is followed by the references consulted to carry out this study which is finally followed by the appendices.
