Abstract: This is a studyonStudents’ Perceived Roles of Immediate Feedback in EnglishLanguage Learning.The main objective of this study was to explore the students’experiences on the role ofimmediate feedback in English languagelearning. Thenarrative inquirywasadopted as a research design. The population of this study were allthe students of M. Ed third semester of Department of English Education, TribhuvanUniversity. The sample of this study consisted offour students of M.Ed third semesterstudying at Tribhuvan University.Purposive non-random sampling strategy was adoptedfor the selection of sample population. The study was based on both primary andsecondary sources of data. I collected data through unstructured interview and reflectivewriting of the participants. The collected data were transcribed, coded and analyzedthematically. The findings of the study show that the teachers’ immediate feedback playsthe role of facilitator in their learning. Similarly, teachers’immediate feedbackinfluenced positively in accuracy and fluency work. However, the studentsweredemotivated because of teachers’ superiority attitudein the classroom.Therefore, thestudents formed misconception and dissatisfaction towards particular teacherand subject. This thesisconsists of five chapters. The first chapterdeals with background of the study,statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of thestudy, delimitations of the study and operationaldefinitions of the study. On the otherhand, the second chapter deals with the review of related theoretical literature, review ofthe related empirical literature, implications of the study and conceptual framework.Similarly,thethird chapter deals withthe design of the study, population, sample andsampling strategies, sources of data ( primary and secondary), data collection procedures,data analysis procedures and ethical considerations. The fourth chapter is about theanalysis and interpretation ofresults and the fifth chapter consists of the findings,conclusion and recommendations. The last section of this research includes the referencesand appendices.
