Abstract: The research work entitled"The EffectivenessofProcess ApproachinDevelopingWriting Skill"is an attempt to find out the effectiveness fo process approach inenhancing capability of students in writing skill. In the past writing skill had beentaught using conventional techniques such as lecture, explanation and dictation. Incomparison to conventional method of teaching writing skill, the application ofprocess approach yield considerable change in student’s performance. In this studythe researcher explored the importance of process approach in developing writingskill several study were carried out to develop writing skill. Each of them yieldedpartial results. Considering that fact the researcher carried out this research. Theapplication of process approach yield considerable change in student’s performancecompared to the conventional writing techniques. The student of Bachelor level weresample population in this research work. To refer to the process of the application ofthe research, the researcher, first of all, prepared a set of ten questions whichcomprised 100 marks. Secondly, he taught through conventional approach andexplored little change in student’s performance. Finally he taught through processapproach and explored the considerable change in student’s performances. Thus thethree phaseactivities were the process of the research project. The study consists of four chapters. The first chapter deals with the brief introductionof related area of study. It includes objectives, literature review and significance ofstudy. The second chapterdeals with methodology and procedure adopted during thestudy. The third chapter deals with analysis and interpretation of data under theseheading comparison on the ground of subject matter, comparison on the gournd ofcoherence, comparison on the groundof cohesion, Comparison on the ground ofgrammatical correctness. The Fourth chapter deals with findings andrecommendations. The application of process approach was expected to bring changein student’s performance. And this chapter shows the augmentation in students’performance. To reflect upon the above sections, the objective of the study was to findout the effectiveness of process approach in terms of subject matter, coherence,cohesion, grammatical correctness. And the application of process approach proved tobe one of effective technique in developing writing skill.
