Abstract: | Each society has its own socio-economic structure which has a direct impact on the lives of the people. In modern industrialized societies the economic system determines the relationship between the people as they are classified into owners and workers. The owners subdue the workers at various levels. As a result, the workers rebel and attempt to establish the world of their own, full of equality and justice. John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath depicts such struggle of working class people against the capitalist system. |
