Abstract: This dissertation tries to analyze the main similarities and differences of "Verbal Inflections in English and Maithili". So far no comparative study with error analysis has been carried out between these two languages. The study has been divided into five chapters: Introduction, Tense, Aspect, Modality and Agreement. The first chapter includes a brief introductory survey of the related area of the study and also includes significance of the study and definition of specific terms. The second chapter deals with ‘Tense’ adopted during the study The third chapter deals with “Aspect”, the fourth chapter includes ‘Agreement’. All the chapters present similarities, differences, comparative, forms, importance between English and Maithili Languages. In the final part of this thesis Conclusion and ‘Works cited’ have been included systematically.
