dc.description.abstractThis abstract of the thesis illustrates how the entire study has been conducted. This dissertation is a study of Ama Samuha. The major objectives of the study was to find out the role of mothers group for empowerment of women. Moreover, the specific objectives of the study are,to assess the role of Hangdewa Aama Samuha for empowerment of women and social development andto explain the attitude of male, female and other members of society towards the empowerment of women through Hangdewa Aama Samuha therefore 90 women from has been selected as the very unique case of theHangdewa Ama Samuha for the study. In the study, in order to analyze and inter operate the meaning, empowerment theory is used and analyzed interrelation between theory and practices and tried to find out the gap in the practice level comparing and contrasting the practice. In the study, policies and empirical studies have been critically analyzed and interpreted. For this study description research design has been used. Primary and secondary such as FGD, interviews and key informant interviews have been used as the dominant data collection tools and techniques in the study. There are mentioned decision making and organizational activities for social development. Within the social development there is described what problems are faced by women working in the group. There are exposed other realms of social and economic life of women. In this background this dissertation has been prepared and submitted to Department of Rural Development.en_US
