Abstract: The research is entitled as Teachers' Views on Impact of Action Research on Teacher Professional Development. The main objective of the study was to find out the impact of Action Research on Teacher Professional Development. Survey research design was used in this research. In order to conduct the research, I collected data from English teachers of Kathmandu district. I collected data by administering the questionnaire from 30 teachers. I used close-ended questions to the data. The sample of the study was selected on secondary and basic level by using a random sampling procedure. It was viewed that action research had positively impact on teacher professional development. Almost all the teachers agreed with the positive impact of action research on teacher professional development. This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter consists a brief introduction of the study, statement of the problem, objective of the study, delimitation of the study and operational definition of the key terms, population, sample and sampling strategy, sources of the data collection tools and techniques, data collection procedures and ethical considerations. Similarly, the second chapter includes review of the related literature and third chapter includes methods and procedures as the study. The fourth chapter is about analysis of the data and interpretation of the result. The analysis of teachers' responses has been done under various suitable and inclusive themes. The final chapter deals with findings, conclusion and recommendations which are summed up from the analysis and interpretation of the collected data for the purpose of research followed by references and appendices.
