Abstract: This research study entitled “Proficiency of Twelve Garde Students in Transformation” aims to explore the proficiency of twelve grade students in wh-question and yes/no question transformation. To collect data, the researcher adopted both primary and secondary sources. There were sixty students as the sample population from six schools; thirty from community and thirty from Private schools. Finally, data were analyzed statistically and interpreted them descriptively. The results of this study showed that twelve grade students have better proficiency in question transformation because both girls and boys scored 76.3 percentage holistically. Overall findings indicated that girls’ proficiency level is higher than the proficiency level of boys in question transformation as girls obtained higher marks than the marks obtained by boys. The study showed that private schools’ students have far better proficiency than proficiency of community schools because private schools’ students obtained higher marks than the marks of community schools. Holistic analysis showed that students have better proficiency in question transformation using ‘modal and have’ verbs because students obtained 92.21 percentage but students have poor proficiency in question transformation in simple tense using ‘did’ verb as students obtained only 67.38 percentage This thesis comprises five chapters.
