Abstract: The purpose of the present study was to pin point whether the language materials used in the textbook are sufficient to meet the related objectives for developing written English under the analysis of “Writing for Advanced Learners of English” prescribed for B.Ed. first year students. The researcher selected eight B.Ed. campuses in the Kathmandu valley purposively. He selected 80 students of B.Ed.first year major English, in which 10 students were selected from each campus. The researcher used two sets of close-ended questionnaires i.e. one for students and another for teachers. The researcher visited selected campuses, established rapport and got the students collected with the help of the English teachers. He administered the questionnaire to the selected students and teachers and then he collected them. The data collected from the respondents were analyzed and interpreted to find out the careful selection of the teaching materials whether they keep in mind of the learners or not. Broadly speaking, it was found that the teaching materials maintain quality and provide exposure to real English. The study is divided into four chapters. The first chapter consists of the background of the study, review of the related literature, objectives and significance of the study. The second chapter consists of sources of data, sampling procedure, tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. The third chapter deals with the analysis and interpretations of the collected data and last chapter summaries the whole study by presenting findings, suggestions and some recommendations. The references and appendices are included at the last part of this thesis.
