Abstract: This research work entitled Factors Affecting Accessibility of Dalit Students in English Language Teaching and Learning has been carried out to identify the affecting factors in accessibility of Dalit students in English language teaching and learning. The researcher used purposive non-random sampling procedures to select 20 Dalit students and 10 English teachers as the respondents from lower secondary and secondary level schools in Doti district. Two sets of questionnaire were used to gather the teachers' and students' perceptions separately. The data obtained from the respondents were analyzed and interpreted descriptively. As the findings were summarized and concluded, it was found that untouchability, caste discrimination, poverty, low level of awareness, parent education, domination, humiliation, discouragement and negative attitude towards Dalits are the major factors affecting accessibility of Dalit students in English language teaching and learning. This study is divided into five chapters. Chapter one deals with introduction. It consists of background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and operational definition of the key terms. Second chapter deals with the review of theoretical literature, empirical literature, implications of the review for the study and theoretical / conceptual framework respectively. Likewise, third chapter includes the design and method of the study, population, sample and sampling strategy, study area, tools and techniques for data collection, data collection procedure, data analysis and interpretation procedure. The fourth chapter deals with the analysis of data and interpretation of the results with summary and discussion of findings. Similarly, the data obtained from the students have been described, analyzed and interpreted descriptively. Finally, the last chapter deals with the conclusions and recommendation made on the basis of summary and discussion of the findings.
