Abstract: This study entitled “Activities Practiced in Drama Teaching” attempts to find out the teaching and learning activities used in the drama classes in B.A.second year. For this study, I used two sets of questionnaires and an observation checklist as tools. The population of the study comprises of 60students and 4 English teachers from four different campuses of the Kathmandu district. I observed 24classes (6 classes per teacher) of each teacher. Finally, while teaching drama the activities that were found being practiced were: revision of the previous lesson, summarization of the plot,students’ participation in group and pair works, discussion in the classroom about the text, use of supplementary materials , focus on difficult vocabularies,group division of students, description of cultural and historical aspects,practice the student centered teaching activities, role playing activities, writing formal and informal dialogues, use of listening skill and completion of the dialogues. This research study consists of four chapters:The first chapter contains general background, review of the related literature, objectives of the study and signification of the study. Similarly, the second chapter contains the methodology, the population of the study, tools for data collection,and the process of data collection and limitations of the study. The third chapter deals with the analysis and interpretation of the data obtained. Finally, the fourth chapter deals with findings and recommendations of the study. References and appendices are presented at end of this chapter.
