Abstract: This research work on Ben Elton’sBlind Faith (2007)seeks to trace the importance of reason in the life of people focusing on the Enlightenment rationality. Need of reason and the scientific knowledge in human life, and the measurable condition of people in absence of reason is the main focus of this study.Confessor Bailey, a member from Church, is ruling innocent people by keeping them in the total darkness of ignorance. He represents religious orthodoxy which exploits common people in the name of spiritual belief. Chantoria, Tinker Bell and Barbieheart are representative of those people who have strong influence of superstitious belief upon them and they have been the victim of this belief. Not similar to them, Trafford, the protagonist in the novel, is representative of real revolutionary character. He revolts against this Orthodox Church with the help of reason and the knowledge beyond the boundary of convention and faith that leads his life towards progressivism unlike other traditional people in the society.
