Abstract: The purpose of the present study was to find out the Secondary level English teacher's attitudes towards the revised English textbook for grade ten. The researcher selected ninteen Secondary level English teachers from government- aided schools and two from private schools within Dailekh district and fourteen English teachers from government- aided schools and six from private schools within Surkhet district. The researcher used a set of questionnaire consisting of close-ended and open-ended questions in order to collect the required information, which was expected to meet the objectives of the study. For close-ended, three points Likert scale, Thurston scale and Multiple choice question for the convenience of respondents were developed. The respondents were requested to give their own opinions and reasons for the given questions. The data collected from informants were analyzed to delineate the general attitude of the teachers towards the revised English textbook. The secondary level English teachers have positive attitudes towards the revised English textbook but they have negative attitudes towards some aspects of the textbook, especially revision system of the textbook, layout of the textbook, standardization of the textbook, vocabulary etc. They are not satisfied with the practical examination system. It is found that they prefer internal evaluation system to evaluate the actual performance of all the students. They also prefer communicative type of English. They were in favour of an appropriate selection and gradation of the contents of the textbook. This thesis consists of four chapters. It consists of sources of data, sampling Procedure, tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. Chapter three presents the analysis and interpretations.
