dc.description.abstractThe current study is on "Grammar Teaching Techniques Adopted by Secondary Level English Teacher". The work attempted to find out the techniques of teaching grammar adopted by secondary level English teachers. For this purpose, a sample of the ten English teachers was selected from five secondary schools of Sindhuli district. The data was collected through questionnaire and the class observation. It was found that personal question, demonstration, oral exercise, free sentence composition are the most commonly used techniques while lecture, isolation, writing, are the least used techniques of teaching grammar in the classroom. This thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter encompasses introduction of the study. It incorporates general background, importance of teaching grammar, aspects of language, language skills, methods of teaching grammar, techniques of teaching grammar, review of related literature, objectives of the study and significance of the study. The second chapter deals with the methodology used in the study described in terms of the sources of data collection, tools used for collecting data, procedure of data collection, limitations of the study. The third chapter is the presentation of the analysis and interpretation of the data. The data is analyzed and interpreted by using simple stastical tool of percentage and frequency. The fourth chapter includes the findings and recommendations of the study. This chapter also includes some of the suggestions to the English teachers about technique of teaching grammar. The concluding chapter is followed by the references and appendices that were used in doing the thesis.en_US
