Abstract: (open-ended) and objective (closed-ended) questions in order to collect the required information from the selected teachers. The researcher randomly selected forty teachers from primary level. Twenty teachers were of private school and twenty teachers were of government aided school from Bhaktapur district. The researcher collected data from forty informants then analyzed and interpreted them to determine teachers' perception towards teaching English at primary level. It was found that teachers from both schools were positive towards teaching English at primary level. However, private schools' teachers were more positive than that of government aided schools. This thesis includes four chapters. Chapter-one is the introductory chapter which provides information regarding general background, review of related literature, objectives of the study, and significance of the study. General background deals with English language teaching, teaching English at primary level, concept of perception, importance of perception and testing of perception. Chapter-two is dedicated to the sources of data, population of the study, sampling procedures, tools of data collection, process of data collection and limitation of the study. The sources of study include both primary and secondary sources. Similarly, chapter-three deals with the analysis and interpretation of data. Both objectives and subjective questions have been analyzed and interpreted with the help of tables and figures. In this chapter, both statistical and descriptive approaches have been applied. Likewise, chapter-four deals with the findings and the recommendations, the findings and recommendations have been made in accordance with the analysis and interpretation. The references and appendices have been kept in the concluding part of the thesis. The main purpose of this study was to find out the teachers' perception towards teaching English at primary level.
