Abstract: The current study aims at making a survey of these causes and sources of foreign language anxiety. For this purpose, a sample of 60 EFL learners of grades nine and ten were selected from two secondary schools of Rukum district. Analyzing the data collected through survey FLCAS Questionnaire; it was found that all most all the learners had anxiety of foreign language learning. As a whole EFL learner were found that they did not have moderate level of anxiety. Moreover, test, self-concept, over competitiveness, peer, teacher, method, pathological aspects, cognitive aspects and academic aspects were the main sources and causes of anxiety in average for more than 80% EFL learners. All these findings indicate that most of the sources and causes of language anxiety were resulted from the teaching and learning environment. This study consists of four chapters. The first chapter presents the general background, second language acquisition, teaching and learning English: needs and problem, introducing anxiety, anxiety and EFL teacher, classification of anxiety, and sources and causes of anxiety. Furthermore, the chapter deals with review of the related literature, objectives and significance of the study, and definitions of the specific terms used in the study. The second chapter deals with the methodology used in the process of this study; namely: sources of data, population of the study, sampling procedure, the tools for data collection, procedures for data collection and limitations of the study. The third chapter is the presentation of the analysis and interpretation of the data. In the fourth chapter, the findings and recommendations have been presented on the basis of the data analysis and interpretation in chapter three. The final chapter also appended the references consulted in this study and the appendices.
