dc.description.abstractAccordingly, the study classified disabilities under five broad categories, namely Physicaldisability, mentally retarded, Blindness, Deafness and Multiple disabilities.The study isbased on primary data collected from Panauti Municipality in Kavre district in 2008. Thisstudy includes 95 respondents by using snowball sampling method. The main objective of thestudy is to find out the socio-economic status of disabled persons of Panauti Municipality ofKavre District. Most of the respondents (42.11%) are less than 15 or equal to 15 years. Majority ofthe respondent (60%) are physically Disabled followed by mentally retarded 14.74%, amongthe respondents 46.32%are become disabled by birth. The main cause behind it lack ofKnowledge of antenatal care or delivery care. Among the respondent 63.16% are literate and36.84% are illiterate. The main finding of this study is Disabled people are living in Low socio-economiccondition and in some cases they are deprived of getting facilities. Disabled are MoreVulnerable of being handicapped and often discard from the household.en_US
