The thesis entitled" Cooperative Farming Initiated By A Political Party In Nepal” is a case study carried out in a small town called Sukute in Kalika VDC-9 of Sindhupalchowk, where a group of people of a particular political party has started a new concept of cooperative farming. Drastically, different work by political party has changed their image; besides giving speeches, had stepped towards a developmental work. Main aim of the study was to know the successfulness of the new approach done by a political party for cooperative farming and to analyze the role of cooperative farming in uplifting livelihood of rural poor through the products in income generation. The Cooperative has targeted five objectives to be fulfilled, it’s as follows: Agriculture, Industries, business, Tourism and Social welfare. The Cooperative Farming follows the saying "Gaun Gaun ma Sahakari, Ghar Ghar ma Bahkari", which has also proved its worth. Here, this cooperative farming is purposed for economical revolution. Twelve people of the party had started this Cooperative Farming from 2063B.S. in 100 Ropani. Where firstly they tried to produce rice in 90 ropani, which was quite fruitful. However, the people believed that they can earn more from the same land if they try something new. Then they started fish farming with 5000 bhuras along with poultry farming and livestock farming too. This increases their income and support to expand their business too. It also encourages the local people to be shareholder of the cooperative farming. Within these three years, they are running 12 ponds for fish farming. They use to sale the fish, this year they sold of Rs. seven lakh. This income is regularly reinvested in the farming to expand it and sometime the benefits are shared between the shareholders as well. The firm has utilized the wasteland near to the bank of river so they do not have to face any kind of problem of water supply needed for the fishponds and farming too. The "Co-operative Faming" and the "Sahid Smriti Bahuudesya Sahakari Sanstha” both are totally under the supervision of Mr. Dhurba Parajuli (Santosh), Incharge of District Party and the Co-operative Farming. There are five full timers paid Rs.5000/month and some part timers to work in the farm. Direct observation, in-depth interview, face-to-face questionnaire, and group discussion are used for the primary data collection. Secondary data were collected through the review of various books, published and unpublished literatures. The data thus collected were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively.
