This thesis entitled ‘Communication Strategies Used by Grade Twelve Students’ is intended to discover the communicative strategies applied by Grade Twelve students while exchanging their ideas, feelings, thoughts, emotions and so on in L2 or FL (i.e. English). For this, data have been collected from all six Higher Secondary Schools of Pathari Resource Center in Morang district through interview, questionnaire, and observation. On the basis of the collected data, the strategies employed by the students were determined using simple statistical tools such as percentage and mean weightage. Among twenty-five experimented communicative strategies which can be used in communication, only seven strategies were applied, nine were may or may not be used, and other nine were not used or applied by Grade Twelve students, while taking part in communication. The purposed study has been divided into four chapters. Chapter one encompasses general background, review of related literature, objective of the study, significance of the study and definition of specific terms. Chapter two deals with methodology. It incorporates sources of data, population of the study, sample population, tools for data collection, limitation of the study and process for data analysis. Chapter three includes analysis and interpretation of data. The data are analyzed and interpreted on the basis of the mean weightage and percentage. Chapter four consists of findings, conclusion, and recommendations. Some findings have been presented on the basis of the analysis and interpretation done in the previous chapter. With the help of findings, conclusion is drawn and some recommendations are made. The appendices and references are given in the final part of the thesis.en_US
