Abstract: This present study entitled ‘A Study on Testing Reliability interms of ParallelFormsMethod' aimsat finding out the reliability interms of parallel forms me-thod. The researcher administered pre test and post test to the students of Pok-hara United Academy, Kalika Higher Secondary, Shree Amar Singh HigherSecondary and Metropolitan Academy. The total sample of the study was 80students of the selected schools. The sample of population was done on the ba-sis of thejudgmentalsampling procedure. Itwas done with respect toschool, genderand item wise. The researcher using primary and secondary sources ofdata did this research. Results showed that the reliability of parallel-forms me-thod in assessing reading skill is high. The reliability of the test item differsfrom school to school, item-to-item and even male and female students. Resultsof item-wise comparison showed that reliability of test in true–false and fill-in-the blanks itemswas high whereas in matchingitem, multiple-choice item, rearrange andshort answerquestions was satisfactory. Moreover, results oftrue-false item showed the highest reliability whereasshortanswerquestionsshowed thelowest reliability. Results of personal comparison showed thatonlya few students got the same marksin both tests. Due to the marks variationamong the students, it was concluded that the test item lacked reliability. Thethesishas been divided into four chapters. The first chapter of the studydeals with the introduction part, whichincludesgeneral background,theEng-lish language in Nepal, Language teaching and testing, reading skill, testingreading, quality of a good language test, validity, reliability, parallel forms me-thod, review of related literature, objectives of the study andsignificance of thestudy. The second chapter deals with the methodology used in the study. It in-cludessource of data, population of study, sampling procedure, tools of datacollection, process of data collection, limitation ofthe study etc.Chapter threeis the main part of study that includes analysis and interpretation.Last chapterdeals with the findings and recommendations made after the analysis of data.
