The Need of English for Home-Makers

Abstract

This research study entitled "The Need of English for Home-Makers" aims to explore andidentify the necessity of the English language for the home-makers. Thisstudy tries tofind out how much important the possession of English for home-makers. It also tries tothrow light on the particular works in comparison to others for which the necessity ofEnglish always strikes. All the data were collected through questionnaire. For the primarysource of data I selected 40 home-makers from Kirtipur in Kathmandu. Purposive non-random sampling was used as sampling procedure in this study. To complete this study Ihave used related books, journals, articles, magazines as secondary sources of data. Thisstudy shows that the homemakers need English in almost all of the situations or in theirworks. This study has been divided into four main chapters and other sub-chapters. The firstchapter deals with introduction of the study, review of the related literature objectives ofthe study, significance of the study and definition of the specific terms. The secondchapter deals with the methodology which includes sources of data, sampling procedure,tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study. Likewisethe third chapter presents analysis and interpretation of the data with its sub headings.The fourth chapter presents the findings derived from the analysis and interpretation ofcollected data.It also provides some recommendations on the basis of findings. Finallyreferences and appendices are also included for the validation of the research.
