Abstract: The present research study entitled "Language Used in Zodiac Sign: A Descriptive Study" aims at finding out the language structures, word classes and communicative functions found in the Horoscope Column of the English daily newspapers in Nepal. This research study has been done by using secondary sources of data. After the study and analysis, it is found that major word classes and simple sentences were most frequently used. The language and sentence structures have their own unique features which cite examples of distinctive linguistic features as used by newspapers. The first chapter of the study deals with the introduction part which mainly deals with the general background, mass media, an introduction to zodiac sign and its significance, history and zodiac sign etc. The second chapter deals with the methodology used in the study. It has included the sources of data, population of the study, sampling procedure, tools for data collection, procedure of data collection and limitations of the study. Chapter three is the main part of the study which includes analysis and interpretation of the data. The last chapter includes the findings and recommendations made upon the analysis of the data and conclusion of the study as well which follows references and appendix.
