Abstract: The thesis entitled 'vocabulary Achievement of the students of B.Ed. 2nd year' attempts to find out achievement level of vocabulary of the B.Ed. level students of 4 campuses and also attempts to compare their achievement level of vocabulary items included in text book '30 days a more powerful vocabulary'. The students selected under this study were altogether eighty in number; forty from each district (Kathmandu and Dhanusha). Their distribution was 20 students from each campus. The researcher administered test items which had same lexeme for noun and adjective as far as possible. The researcher found that the percentage of the total achievement of the students in nouns and in adjectives were 72.65% and 63.1% respectively. Which means achievement in nouns was found better than the achievement in adjectives. This study has been confined into four chapters. They are introduction, methodology, analysis and interpretation, and findings and recommendation. The first chapter describes the general background, introduction to vocabulary in teaching learning English, introduction to the targeted text, review of the related literature, objectives of the study and significance of the study. The second chapter deals with the methodology which includes sources of data, population of the study, sampling process, tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitation of the study. The third chapter consists of analysis and interpretation of the data obtained by administrating the test. They are analyzed, compared and discussed in this chapter. The fourth chapter presents the findings derived from the analysis and interpretation of the data. It also consists of recommendations and pedagogical implications in teaching vocabulary on the basis of the findings. The references and appendices follow the main body.
