dc.description.abstractThis study entitled 'The English Language Achievement of Working Class Children ' attempts to find out the Working Children's English Language Achievement. In order to carry out this study, the researcher selected 80 working children from 8 government schools of the Kathmandu district by the help of subject teacher of the selected schools using non-random sampling procedure. He administered the test and the scores were tabulated on the basis of test items and were analyzed in terms of the average difference. The major finding was that all the students from the urban areas had the higher average score whereas the students from the rural area had the lower average achievement. It is recommended that the students from rural areas were weaker in comparison to those from the urban areas so they should be paid more attention in their study. The study is divided into four chapters. The First Chapter is an introductory chapter. It includes general background, review of the related literature, objectives of the study and significance of the study. The Second Chapter is an account of the methodology applied to carry out the research, under which sources of data, sampling procedure, tools for data collection, process of data collection and limitations of the study are presented. The Third Chapter presents analysis and interpretation of the data. In this section both statistical as well as descriptive approach were used to find out the English language achievement of working children. The data were tabulated and analyzed using simple statistical tools. The Fourth Chapter incorporates findings and recommendations of the research. The references and appendices shaped the concluding part of the thesis.en_US
