Abstract: | This present reseach focuses on the protagonists's ceaseless effort to find her identity. During the course of the novel, Kate Brown undergoes a series of changes, in other words, in her encounters with the men different identities are manifested. She is always in search of a stable identity in the patriarchal society throughout the novel. But it is proved that patriarchy prevails everywhere. However, she persists in her effort to obtain her identity. |
