Abstract: | To The Lighthouse is the most psychological of Virginia Woolf's novels. In this simple and haunting story, Woolf conflates the dynamics of the family Oedipus complex having developed love from mother by son and love from father by daughters. It is based on childhood and the children's perceptions, desires; Id-want, want, want when exploring adult rational part that is Ego and the lifting the lid of the unconscious through the stream of consciousness technique. The feeling of something uncanny in the novel is directly attached to the figure of the Lighthouse, that is to the idea of being lost or not found and not met. |
