Abstract: The thesis entitled Cultural Inclusion and Ethnicity in Devkota's Narrative poems: Muna-Madan, Mhendu and Luni explores the poet's motive behind bringing the concept of cultural inclusiveness to the fore. In the pursuit of this issue, the research uses cultural criticism as a tool to approach the aforementioned texts. Besides, the thesis makes an analysis of the ethnic culture as it is observed exclusively by Bhote, Tamang and Sherpa. After introducing the ethnic culture, the research locates the ethnic culture in above mentioned works by Devkota. Since Devkota's contemporary society exerts immense influence upon his writings, the society he lived in also has been discussed in the research. By doing this, the research displays how Devkota was disappointed with the then social structure and political system which compelled him to write poetry against it questioning the relevance of the political structure and social system in the holistic growth of the nation. The research, at the end, comes up with the findings that Devkota's travel throughout the country as well as abroad granted him with an insight into the necessity of cultural inclusion. This is the soul of the thesis.
