Abstract: The research work entitled "Effectiveness of Para-orthographic Texts Used in English Text Book for Grade Ten" is carried out to find out the effectiveness of different Para-orthographic texts that are put within grade ten English text book with comparison to orthographic texts of that textbook and to provide some recommendation for pedagogic purpose. For this study, 2 sets of test items were prepared i.e. set 'A' for orthographic texts and set 'B' for para-orthographic texts to collect the required information by administering test. The overall findings of the study show that the Para-orthographic texts which are used within grade ten English text books are comparatively more effective and useful than the orthographic texts of that same text book. The study has been presented in four chapters. The first chapter consists of general background, review of related literature, objectives of the study and limitation of the study. The second chapter describes the methodology applied to carry out the study which includes primary sources of data, secondary sources of data, tools used for the collection of data, procedures for data collection and limitations of the study. The third chapter consists of analysis and interpretation of data and recommendations are presented in the fourth chapter. In the final section of the study, the references and appendices are included.
