Abstract: | The main objective of this study is to show how Dylan Thomas looks back at his childhood in his poetry. To find out his perspective towards childhood, some of his poems have been analyzed in detail against his Welsh background. A loved and familiar landscape becomes the object around which his nostalgic feelings evolve. There is a tendency to idealizepast experiences in his poems. The charming and glorious days of childhood are recalled and contrasted in his poems with darker and more sinister world of the adult. The poet looks at the child's world and the main focus is not on the pain of knowledge but on the bliss of innocence. |
