Abstract: This research study entitled " Role of Cooperative Learning for Developing Speaking Skill of Master Level Students: A Narrative Inquiry " aimed to explore the role of cooperative learning for developing speaking skill of M.Ed. student and to study the cooperative learning culture among the M.Ed. students. Keeping the objectives into considerations, five M.Ed. level English students were selected as the sample by using purposive non-random sampling strategy. Data for this study was collected by conducting semi-structured interview with the selected participants/students. I have visited and revisited the study area to collect and validate the data. After the collection of the data they are categorized into eight themes and analyzed descriptively. From the study it was found that co-operative learning has positive role for developing speaking skill of M.Ed. students. It was also found that, cooperative learning is beneficial for the students to develop various language skills, social skills and personal skills. It was also found that cooperative learning engaged the students in meaningful interaction for sustaining their speaking skill from regular feedback of their group members to their performance and also found that student had a positive attitude towards cooperative Learning. The present study consists of five main chapters. Chapter one is an introductory chapter. It includes background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, research questions, significance of the study, delimitations of the study and operational definitions of the key terms. Chapter two deals with reviews of the related theoretical literature, review of the related empirical literature, implications of the review and conceptual framework in relations to the role of cooperative learning for developing speaking skill of M.Ed. students and cooperative leaning culture among the M.Ed. students. Chapter three includes design of the study, population, sample and sampling strategy, research tools, sources of data, data collection procedures, ethical consideration. Chapter four presents the analysis of the data and interpretations of the result. Finally, chapter five includes the findings, conclusion and recommendations of the study. The study ended with my reflection which was included my experiences regarding writing thesis.
