Abstract: The present research work entitledRole of In-serviceTraining inDevelopingProfessionalSkillsis an attempt to find out the role of in-service training to theteachers for their professionaldevelopment .The study was carried out by usingprimary and secondary sources of data.The data analysis and interpretationbased on qualitative inquiry.To achieve the objectives observation form andinterview were prepared as tools for the data collection. The data werecollected from the five secondary English teachers from Dang district. Fromeach school, one English teacher was selected by using purposive non-randomsampling method. The five teachers were interviewed and five classes wereobserved. The data collected through interview and classroom observation wereanalyzed and interpreted descriptively. It was found that in-service traininghelps to develop different skills like classroom management, ICT skills, lessonplan designing, clearing objective,materials designing and so on. This thesis consists of five chapters .The first chapter deals with theintroduction of topic in which background of the study, statement of theproblem, objective of the study research questions,significance of the studydelimitations of the study and operational definition of the key terms areincluded .The second chapter includes the review of both theoretical andempirical literature along with the implications of the review for the study. Italso includes conceptual framework. The third chapter dealswith the methodsand procedures of the study. It includes research design of the study populationsample, sampling strategies, data collection tools, data collection procedures,data interpretation procedures and ethical consideration. The fourth chapterincludes analysis and interpretation of the data. The fifth chapter presentsfinding and conclusion of the study and recommendations. Moreover, ithassome pedagogical implication based on policy related practice related andfurtherresearch related .This chapter is followed by references and appendicesused for the study.
